๐ Calculation Methods
Diminishing Value (DV) โ applies the rate to the current book value each year. The depreciation amount decreases over time as the book value falls.
Prime Cost (PC) โ applies the rate to the original cost each year. The depreciation amount stays constant, reaching zero at end of useful life.
๐ Changing the Rate
Open an item and tap Add rate change in the Rates section. Enter the date the new rate takes effect. The schedule will recalculate from that point using the new rate.
โ๏ธ Write-offs
Record a write-off by opening the item and tapping Add write-off. Enter the date and the amount written off. Write-offs reduce the book value immediately and are reflected in the schedule from that date.
๐ Depreciation Schedule
The detail screen shows a year-by-year schedule with:
- Opening value โ book value at start of year
- Rate โ rate applied that year
- Depreciation โ amount deducted that year
- Write-offs โ any write-offs in that year
- Closing value โ book value at end of year
๐๏ธ Disposal
Set a disposal date on an item to mark it as disposed. Disposed items appear separately in the list with their final book value at the time of disposal.
