🏅 The Three Tiers

Budget Clan has three membership tiers: Bronze (free), Silver, and Gold. Your tier shows in System Settings → Membership, along with your remaining AI credits on Silver/Gold. Data always lives in your own Google Drive regardless of tier; tiers only affect which app features are unlocked.

📁 Bronze: File Limits

Bronze is fully functional for a single person tracking their own data, with two limits per module (Expenses, Budget, Accounts, etc.): up to 2 files you own, and up to 11 files total including ones shared with you. Creating or adding a file past either limit prompts an upgrade dialog instead.

🔒 Silver & Gold: Unlocked Features

Silver raises the file limit to 12 files you own per module, with unlimited shared files. Gold removes the limit entirely. Both unlock the "manage list" screens across the app: Categories, Tags, Tax Rates, Exchange Rates, Account Types, Transaction Statuses, Expense Statuses, Receipt Statuses, Groups, Frequencies, Income Types, Billing Periods, Subscription Types, and more, plus import rules, bulk actions, dashboard layout customisation, personalisation, multi-account, and supplier editing. On Bronze these show an "available on Silver/Gold" dialog instead of opening.

The Tax report is Gold only.

✨ AI Features

AI features (statement import, receipt scanning, currency conversion) are unavailable on Bronze entirely. Silver and Gold differ in how AI runs. See AI features for the full Path A (BYO Gemini key, Gold only) vs Path B (BudgetClan AI credits, Silver/Gold) split.
